What is it?

Cupping involves using glass or plastic cups to release tightnened fascia or scar tissue by suctioning the air out of the cup. It’s designed to break up myofascial binding, increase blood flow, and decrease toxins in a specific area.

Why would you need this treatment?

This could be a good tool for our therapists to use with you if you have myofascial pain (localized muscle pain or knots) combined with an injury. You can also do active stretching with the cups on. You’re a candidate for this as long as you don’t have blood clots, your skin is in good shape, and you don’t bruise easily.

What should you expect from Springer PT?

Expect to feel some initial soreness, right at the pain point, and then relief as the muscle relaxes.
